Will Vinton & David Pomeranz collaborate on THE KISS Musical

THE KISS is a unique collaboration between Academy Award winning Producer/Director/Writer Will Vinton, multi-platinum song-writing legend David Pomeranz, and the humorous and innovative choreography of BodyVox.  The project takes advantage of each of these creators’ best abilities and combines their experience, along with their artistic associates for a world-class musical of character comedy, music, magic, design and sheer delight.

Will Vinton, best known as the creator of “Claymation” and his innovative work in 3D Animation, takes his award-winning cinematic talent to the stage for the first time in this collaboration.

“I really love our “Kiss” project.  The stage is a new medium for me and I can’t wait to show some of our unique innovations, much of them based on my experience as an animator,” enthuses Vinton.  “Our plan is to first present the musical with a ‘Staged Event’ – somewhere between a live reading and a staged premier.  The presentation will feature projected sets, actors in representative costumes, a six piece live orchestra and staged chorography.  Within a year, we will premiere the production regionally as a Pre-Broadway show, and then hopefully take this musical production all the way to the Broadway.”

David Pomeranz, who has composed the musical’s original songs and score, is a critically acclaimed songwriter with more than 40 million recordings sold worldwide and 22 platinum records to his name. Pomeranz is one of the music industry’s most successful and prolific songwriter recording artists.

“I’ve worked a lot around Broadway and the music business. Being involved with ‘THE KISS’  has been a truly unique and creative experience,” said Pomeranz about the project. “It’s a dream because I get to work with the great and wildly imaginative Will Vinton – someone I’ve been a fan of for many years and now we get to work together.   And we’ve assembled a veritable dream team of people at the top of their respective fields to support it. The show is entertaining, moving, and absolutely hilarious – it has all the right elements for success on Broadway ”.
